The Green at Castle Howard
One of the most exciting moments of staying in a self-catering cottage in England, is opening the door to discover what’s inside.
We recently stayed at The Green in Coneysthorpe on the Castle Howard estate. Its location in pretty, quiet village was a perfect base for exploring the North York Moors and the City of York, just 15 miles away.
The Green is a comfortable stone cottage with 18th century origins. It has two double bedrooms, both en-suite, living room, dining room, utility room/boot-room, kitchen and pantry. There is an enclosed garden to the back.
We particularly liked the rolltop bath and antiques from Castle Howard dotted around the interiors.
Each morning, we woke to the sound of chattering house martins, nesting under our windows.
Bliss!
