I have been fascinated by English history and heritage since I was young, and can remember reading everything I could, from the Wars of the Roses to the Victorian era.
The Tudor/Elizabethan period will always be my favourite and even in my sixties, I still enjoy learning more about powerful people and dramatic events that were the catalyst for the building of many of my favourite houses: Hardwick Hall, Hatfield House and Burghley House, to name but a few.
I still get such a thrill out of visiting historic buildings, even though I may have passed through their doors many times. Each house has its own character, a distinctive atmosphere, a blend of sounds and scents, like the echo of your footsteps on stone steps or a whiff of ancient woodsmoke in the hall. It takes me to another time, when humans, who were just like us, lived out their lives and somehow left an imprint in the walls.
After a career in advertising and marketing, I wanted to do something different in retirement, and to be able to share this late journey of discovery with my daughter Ella is wonderful. Luckily, she is at the controls as I am not great at tech. She has a fantastic eye and knows how to take a great photograph as well as edit it to perfection. There are sometimes fierce debates over what we post but it is all part of our little creative process. We always agree in the end and then we love to see how our audience react to it.
That's the best part of all. Thank you!

Growing up, our home was a revolving stage of rearranged antiques and art, all set to the soundtrack of Kate Bush, Pink Floyd and Genesis spinning on the record player.
My childhood weekends would be spent tagging along with Mum to antiques fairs and country houses (when I was not out riding around the English Countryside on my feisty Welsh pony).
After completing my MA in Medieval Literature at Durham University during the pandemic, I started the job hunt - hoping to find a career that would allow my passion for English Country Houses to flourish.
Happily, I found a role in Client Services at Bonhams, where I gained invaluable insight into the fast-paced London art market. My quest quickly led me to Christie’s, where I interned in their Private & Iconic Collections department. Now back at Bonhams as a Sale Coordinator for House Sales and Private & Iconic Collections, I’m fortunate to work alongside others who share my enthusiasm for timeless design and storied objects.
So far, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to a number of landmark English collection sales, including those of Sir Roger Moore, Vivienne Westwood, Mark Knopfler, and Pattie Boyd. Each project deepens my appreciation for the cultural legacy behind every piece, and fuels the creative vision I now bring to our venture.
